There is No Joy in Astoria...

...For the mighty Orioles have been eliminated from the playoffs.

Nothing that a tasty souvlaki and a good Greek red wine cannot fix! There's always next year!

PS. I thought that the Orioles were from Baltimore. (perhaps a "foot in mouth" comment?)

SUCKS! JUST SUCKS! Please accept my condolences.

Epimenides is correct though, and if I recall there is a great Greek diner on the corner of Broadway and like 36th or 35th street. Lot's of places to get good souvlaki in Astoria. :)

Epi, my son's little league team was the Orioles...

And yes, lots of great Greek food in Astoria. But Chris usually wants to celebrate or mourn over a cheeseburger :) I like Taverna Kyclades on Ditmars or Elias Corner.

OH NO! Well, what can I say, my condolences. GREEK FOOD??? Wouldn't I love to have some right now! Can't get any where I live now. REALLY, nothing like good wine and good food to make things better.

So, I'm thinking this: JYankee is in Japan and craving Greek food. Epi is in Greece and I wonder if he's craving Japanese food. I personally would kill for a good falafal. And you, oh lucky you, can pretty much pick up the phone and get it all delivered to your front door. At least we've got Brooklyn Lager in FL now. That's gotta count for something. :)

And then there's me in Indiana...

I ate at Logan's Steakhouse tonight. I drank a peach tea with my teryaki chicken, does that count for anything?

Uncle Phalato:

I see the connection with the teriyaki chicken. Peach tea???

mmmmmm. Falafel. Another great thing about working in Manhattan. All the falafel carts!!! And if you flirt just a little, the falafel man will hook you UP!

I love a good chicken teriyaki!

Yeah, um, I tried flirting with them once...didn't work for me though.:)

Watching the hot dog cart while the guy used Au Bon Pain's bathroom...that got me a free knish!
